Asian Pear is a tree in FarmVille. It was a limited edition item released with the Japanese Event, and could be obtained for
5,000 coins.
At the time of release, in FarmVille, it was it was one of the most lucrative items on a coin-per-plot basis.
As of November 5, 2010, it can be purchased from the market for
10 FV cash.
It is classified as a level 1 tree. When placed in the orchard, there's a possibility to produce a Shinko Pear Seedling, the second most profitable tree in the game.
Though extraordinarily expensive for a coin tree, it repaid its high cost after only 36 harvests. Since it had a low, 2-day maturation cycle, it could theoretically pay back its cost in as little as 72 days — far quicker than most permanent trees available in the market. A single plot of land could hold 16 Asian pears, which then yielded 2240 coins every 2 days, or 1120 per day. Thus, a plot of Asian pears was more valuable than a plot of any seed or animal (except the belted cow). Despite this high profitability, it was not strictly the most profitable thing ever released, as Ornament Tree I and Ornament Tree II offered slightly better returns before orchards were introduced. Still, the Asian pear was the most lucrative item per plot available for coins, as of July 2010.
Harvested Asian Pear tree looks a lot like the Starfruit Tree except for the trunk part.
