Landscapes can be bought from the Market through the Decorations category in the Landscaping tab, or through the Farm Aides category. All landscapes can be bought for 1,000 coins and will give 10 XP. These Landscapes will change the appearance of a farmer's farm land.
On August 16th, 2011, Zynga released new Landscape Packages into the Market with a "themed horizon" and each farmer's current landscape had the "themed horizon" added, however, if farmers want to change to a new landscape horizon, it will cost them 
50 cash
Note that even though a specific event is over, all landscape options will be available in the market, each for 1,000 coins.
Green Pastures
"Purchasing this will revert your winterland back to lush green farmland!"
Green Pastures is the default Farm Landscape when you begin playing. It was released as an Upgrade on 10 December, 2009. This feature allows a farmer to change their landscape back to green after purchasing the other available landscapes. It is also known as Lush Green Farmland.
Snow Blanket
"Purchasing this will transform your land into a Winter Wonderland!"
Snow Blanket is a Farm Landscape released on 10 December, 2009. It lets a farmer turn their farm into a Snow-Covered place. It is permanent in the Market even after the Winter Holiday Event and Winter Holiday Event (2010).
Desert Plain
"Purchasing this will transform your land into a beautiful desert plain!"
Desert Plain is a Farm Landscape released on 27 April, 2010 as part of the Southwestern Event. This allows a farmer to turn their farm into a Desert Plain-like place. It remained as a permanent addition to the Market even after the Southwestern Event.
Tuscan Green
"Purchasing this will transform your land into a charming Tuscan green."
Tuscan Green is a Farm Landscape released on 20 May, 2010 as part of the Tuscan Event. It allows a farmer to make his or her farm into a lighter shade of green than the Green Pastures. It remained as a permanent addition to the Market even after the Tuscan Event.
Beach
"Purchasing this will transform your land into a soft, sandy beach!"
Beach is a Farm Landscape released on 3rd August, 2010 as part of the New England Event. It allows a farmer to make their farm turn into a beach, with soft sand and scattered rocks. It remained as a permanent addition to the Market even after the New England Event.
Fall Foliage
"Purchasing this will cover your land with beautiful Autumn leaves!"
Fall Foliage is a Farm Landscape released on 22 October, 2010 as part of the Autumn Event (2010). It covers a farmer's land with different colored autumn leaves. It remained as a permanent addition to the Market even after the Autumn Event (2010).
