The pheasant was released on June 24th, 2010, for 2,000,000 Coins. This animal will take approximately 119 years to pay for itself. The main appeal of this animal is therefore not its productive value, but the possibility (by buying it) to very quickly convert large amounts of coins into XP points.

Though a lesser known species of pheasant, it's in fact a Lady Amherst's Pheasant.

The Lady Amherst Pheasant is given out as a free reward for completing Farmville Aviary Quest VI: In the swing of things.
